A Real & Genuine
Connection With Nature
We have risen from the ashes of war to be ambassadors of a paradise that has always been here.
Story Behind Econexa
I was that displaced child. Son of a farmer, sawyer, and day laborer who was both father and mother to me. I grew up working in the fields, caring for my siblings, and finding refuge in books. School saved me. Curiosity transformed me.
I studied technology, art, languages, conservation. I went out to find answers beyond my own territory. But in 2004, when I returned, something changed forever.
I rediscovered the nature I had left behind. I reconnected with the traditions I had almost lost. And I understood my mission:
"To take the name of Colombia to the world, not from pain, but from the unstoppable beauty that was always there."
This is not a story of victimization. It's a story of transformation. And it can be yours too.
The Colombia you didn't know is waiting for you.
Do you dare to explore it with the children of the jungle?
One child, one jungle, one destiny.
There are places where time is measured differently. Where the blue of the sea is so deep it hurts to look at it. Where the jungle holds secrets 2,300 years old and communities resist with a strength that defies all logic.
This is the Urabá Chocoano region. And this is my story.
The territory that the conflict could not erase, While the world spoke of Colombia as synonymous with violence, something extraordinary was happening in the forgotten corners of the country.
In the Urabá Chocoano region—where the Gulf splits in two, offering the most crystalline blue waters on the continent—Indigenous, Afro-descendant, and peasant communities wove a silent resistance. Not with weapons, but with their roots.
Between 1986 and 2016 , this region faced its toughest test: forced displacement, massacres, drug trafficking, and state abandonment. But it never lost its soul.
There are no paved roads here. Running water and electricity are luxuries. A cold beer is a logistical feat. And yet, its inhabitants never left.
Because?
Because the connection to this land transcends any comfort. It is ancestral. It is unbreakable.
